Moving further into the year, we begin to look into the second half of the Retail Calendar. The World Cup has passed, and we’re now entering the final 6 months of 2018. At Tactical, we are ready to start the countdown to Christmas 2018 – The Golden Quarter.

23rd July – School Summer Holidays
Teacher’s relief! School’s end for 6 weeks of Summer Holidays. Back to School promotions will be starting soon, with increases in school wear, stationary, and all the latest gadgets!
21st/22nd August – Eid al-Adha
A religious festival for those of the Muslim faith. The Financial Times reported in August 2017 that “Big retailers missing out on £20bn Muslim consumer market”, also stating that Supermarket chains such as Asda and Tesco sell more Halal foods during the Ramadan and Eid periods in shops that serve Muslim communities. 27th August – August Bank Holiday
Big Music Festivals such as Leeds/Reading festival are in line with this year’s bank holiday season. Expect increases in Alcohol and Snacks in and around these areas, targeting calls geographically for maximised sales.
31st October – Halloween
46% of consumers spent money on Halloween in 2016, up from 39% in 2015 and 1 in 6 spend over £50 on Halloween. (Mintel, 2017) Make sure that Halloween is a treat for your brand!
November to December – Christmas!!
